House Competition Information

The Papanui High School House Competition is now in its fourth year since being re-developed. Every student is assigned to one of four Houses on entry to the school. Houses compete throughout the year for seven Shields.

The Shields are:

• Sports Shield (Touch and Benchball)
• Arts Shield (a week long event)
• Athletics Shield
• Cross Country Shield
• Aquatic Shield (Swimming Sports and Aquatic Week)
• Community Shield
• Junior Activity Day (held in December)

The House competition is designed to foster school spirit, provide students with leadership and mentoring opportunities, develop a tradition, give students a sense of belonging and build up enthusiasm for participation.
